Men’s 4 lost 3-4 away to Northampton Saints 7

Not quite the Scottish football result tongue twister of Forfar 5 East Fife 4. An unusual morning pushback on a cold Spring morning saw MHHC Men’s 4 cross the border of the great cultural border for a game against bottom of the table Northampton Saints 7s.
It was an odd game.Harborough made the hosts look better than their lowly position would suggest. The home team scoring two first half goals from penalty corners, very much against the run of play. The second half saw another Saints goal from a penalty corner before the added a fourth after sliding the ball agonisingly under the oncoming keeper (who played the ball before the player).
4-0 down with a little over 15 minutes left and Harborough woke up. A brace from Finn Ingram-Hawkes and one from Noel Burton saw Harborough back in the game. Despite a number of opportunities in the dying minutes Saints held on for the win.
Today was not our day, we will not win them all but when we click and turn on our game we know we can do better. Let’s hope Northampton’s Rugby namesakes do the same tomorrow!

A superb team performance all round, especially as we had no adults on the pitch. You should be super proud of how you played. Some lovely game play plenty of chances created. Keep playing like that and the results will come our way.
